This 20-question self-check gradually gets harder. Please don’t guess just to get a higher score—choose “I’m not sure” whenever you don’t know. That helps me understand what you know, what you need help with, and whether my lessons are a good fit. Not knowing is completely okay!
OUR LEARNING MATERIALS
I teach using a variety of textbooks and learning materials, choosing resources that best support your level, goals, and learning style.
I recommend purchasing a copy of GENKI I: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese along with its accompanying workbook. These are useful resources for following lessons and practicing what you learn between sessions, but they are not required to study with me.
Alongside GENKI, I may occasionally incorporate children's books, selected materials from Minna no Nihongo, and custom worksheets, activities, and study materials I create myself. My goal is to make learning Japanese approachable, engaging, and tailored to you.
Tell me a little about yourself and what you'd like to learn. This is an expression-of-interest form; sending it doesn't book a lesson or take payment.
It's okay if your Japanese is currently “こんにちは” and that's it.
Anime, travel, culture, conversation, or just curiosity—all are welcome.
